FARM STORY
From the Land of Sunshine
Our Hibiscus is grown in Central and South Central Coast Vietnam.
The climate is defined by prolonged sunshine, high air temperatures (average 30-35-40°C), and high day-night temperature fluctuations. Under “harsh enough” climate, hibiscus creates a deep, vibrant red color and a natural sour taste.
Sustainable Practices
Hibiscus is usually harvested during the dry season, when the hot, dry Laos winds flow in and reduce the humidity in the air. They are hand-harvested by local farmers. To ensure the purity, they use organic citric acid (from lemons) to remove any remaining insects and aphids before drying. It preserves the integrity of the flower from farm to cup.
In the same fields, hibiscus is often intercropped with cashew and pineapple. This model helps farmers make better use of their land and increase their income. Every dried petal carries the spirit of the land and the hands that gathered it.
