FARM STORY
The Land of Sun and Wind
Ninh Thuan is often referred to as "Vietnam's mini Sahara desert" as the most arid region in Vietnam.
This "Land of Sun and Wind" is defined by year-round heat and a lack of rain. It will be challenging to grow food crops here, but it's a unique environment for flavor-rich plants, including pineapple.
To survive the dry weather, pineapples grow slower and work harder to concentrate sugars. This natural stress results in a much sweeter flavor and crunchier texture than pineapples grown in alluvial soil.
Organic Farming Practices
The growing area is surrounded by hills and natural vegetation, far from the production area. This green barrier acts keeping the crops far away from any industrial production or pollution.
Farmers plant pineapples alongside young cashew trees. These trees act as a "natural umbrella," providing essential shade and keeping the soil moist.
Long-term Partnership
The demand for organic produce is growing, but the farmers haven’t always got the financial benefits they deserve.
By building a long-term relationship with Truecoop Manoi Cooperative, we ensure they receive fair pay. It’s our promise to local livelihoods.
