FARM STORY
From Quang Tri
Located 1,120 km north of Ho Chi Minh City, Quang Tri is a coastal province in central Vietnam.
Vinh Linh district is considered the heart of Quang Tri pepper, accounting for nearly 50% of the province’s total pepper-growing area.
Unique Growing Conditions
The Vinh Linh region has the most challenging conditions for producing high-quality pepper.
- The climate is defined by hot, dry winds from Laos.
- The day-night temperature difference can reach 10°C.
These harsh conditions force the plants to build higher levels of essential oils. While the peppercorns may be smaller than those from other regions, their flavor is noticeably bolder, hotter, and more aromatic.
Traditional Practices
We partner with 500 smallholder farmers, each cultivating on average 0.5 ha around their house.
These farmers don't have the habit to use pesticides, they are still keeping their natural cultivation practice. When harvesting, they still handpick and sun-dry each batch with patience. The yield is lower, but the quality meets global organic standards.
We are fortunate to accompany the farmers in Quang Tri to build and protect the value of ancient Quang Tri pepper.
